The Blog

This won't be a typical blog that's just a list of our recent video work. Here we'll try something a little different by answering some of the most common questions we receive and provide insight into what you should be looking for when searching for the perfect videographer for your wedding day!

Why, Hello There!

My name is Andrew and if you're reading this, you probably know me as your friendly neighborhood wedding filmmaker... maybe I even filmed (or will be filming) your wedding. It is said that all good things must come to an end. Luckily, some mediocre things often come to an end as well! It is with great joy that I formally remove my name from this business. Andrew Gormley Wedding Films is now Silver and Spark which, in my humble opinion, is quite an upgrade.

I don't think I was ever truly sold on having the business bear my name, it always felt like far too many syllables—and don't get me started on how often my last name is misspelled. As a result, I never gave the branding or the old website the attention it really needed to be found. In fact, most of my efforts were focused on Facebook, a platform that recently removed nearly all brand post from timelines. Womp womp.

So, earlier this year I set on the path of formal incorporation. Silver and Spark is exactly 50% of my newly-incorporated business and where I decided to invest my energy first—because I really love the work I've done here in collaboration with the rest of the team. This new website showcases the couples and videos beautifully, along with this-here fancy blog section where I can post thoughts and information that might be genuinely useful first to my couples and their families, and second to other wedding filmmakers out there as a way to elevate the industry as a whole. I went a little stark on the design in this initial iteration, but I love the branding and will be tweaking this design over the coming days and weeks.

This is an exciting next step for me and the team and I'm really looking forward to producing more quality work with and for all of you. As an added bonus to really get the word out there that I'm here and ready to kick this up a notch: I'm offering a $200 commission (in the form of a Visa or Amazon Gift Card... your call) to anyone who refers me a client that ends up booking.

So, to wrap it all up: thank you for your support, business, and kind words of encouragement over the past few years. I'm feeling super hopeful as I move into, in comic book movie parlance, Phase 2 of this wild ride and I can't wait to see what's next!
